I’m so, so sick of people i don’t even know asking me for “li xi” (lucky money). A freaking garbage guy just put on a baleful look and begged for li-xi. He hadn’t even finished turning away after i’d turned him down and his usual jaded smirk spread across his face again.

And i can just imagine going to the estranged mate’s parents’ home and having the whole family stretching out their mitts for li-xi even while they’ve done their all to thwart my every attempt to fix up both myself and my marriage.

And this whole scheduled-giving-and-expecting thing extends to Christmas, too. The whole concept of scheduling some periods each year for charity disgusts me. Charity’s a daily, discretionary deed or nothing at all.

And having to deal with all the shutdown services of such holidays sucks just as much.
